With just one date, this bride had snagged the heart of her beloved. It was just the beginning of what’s proven to become the sweetest love story, culminating in their recent wedding in Cannon Beach, Oregon. They met in college, where David explains, “After the first date, I just knew she was the one.” During the speeches, one of his groomsmen added that David always knew he would date just one person, and he’d know when he’d found her! He was right, and his lovely wife is certainly a gem. She was a calm, kind, and lovely bride, and wanted to make sure that everyone was taken care of, all day long. Their ceremony was heartfelt and sweet, swelling with real emotions, and I’m pretty sure there wasn’t a dry eye to be found. Both David and Laura are passionate about community and family, and both of their fathers gave speeches that honored their children and their spouses, and the values they stand for. Then, we danced…and danced some more! There was plenty of good music, laughter, reunions, and a whole lot of love.
Cannon Beach is a tiny little town (barely 1700 people call it home), but it makes up for it’s small size with an abundance of oceanside views, sandy bluffs, and plenty of driftwood and light to make this photographer very happy. Her frothy, dreamy dress is from Anthropologie, and it had an elegant little beaded belt, as well as a vintage inspired pleated detail. The combination of that with the perfect light, was seriously a delight to shoot. I captured both the big moments (the vows, the first dance), as well as the ones that will fade more quickly from memory (the smiles, the laughter, the last minute adjustments of flowers and dresses), because both are the things that comprised their special day.
Are you getting ready for your own dream day? I’d love to talk to you about being your wedding photographer, and how we can capture every memory you’ll look back on for years to come.
