The gorgeous Pacific Northwest boasts some of the most lovely backdrops around. I feel really lucky as a photographer to be based here (though I love to travel), and always look forward to when the leaves start changing. Nick and Heidi’s wedding was right in the middle of this gorgeous season, and I was thrilled. The rich hues and overcast skies were a fun change from sunsets and airy, light images.
The scene was much different than when we photographed their engagement session which has BIG beautiful light but smiles just the sam. I am still wildly in love with these photographs, which can be seen HERE
These two are both really intentional people. They love food and words, and their thoughtful, small celebration was rich with both. They were also surrounded by their loved ones, who were incredibly excited for them both. The ceremony itself featured poetry, and then the forthcoming speeches were just as lovely. I loved all the adorable children running around, and was happy to chase them down with my lens! They both love great food, and especially, good pizza. Nick and Heidi had a local pizza company cater their wedding, which was both clever and unique. (I ate three pizzas, no lie.) They were flavorful, and really represented a fun part of their personalities. In addition to the oven-fired pizzas, they also had a table filled with their favorite rustic dessert: pie!
Besides leaving with an obviously-full stomach, I also left feeling so grateful for this location, and this bride and groom. What a special, unique day filled with little unique touches and so much laughter. I’m always a fan of meaningful words, and authentic love stories, and this was both.
