David and Allison: From the moment you meet them, you realize that they are thoughtful, intentional, and loving. These characteristics have shaped their lives and love, and of course, they shaped their beautiful wedding day…I was so honored to be a part of it. This pair decided to say their vows on the beautiful grounds of Isaac Taylor Gardens, a historic wedding venue right in the heart of New Bern, North Carolina. It was truly a dreamy locale, filled with wrought-iron accents, and mature trees that sloped over the gardens. It also featured historic charm with plenty of brick walkways, and it’s within walking distance of the historic downtown areas.
David and Allison requested authentic, emotion-filled images that showcased their personal styles, their story, and their love in a really natural way. I felt welcomed in like a guest, rather than a hired professional, and everyone was so welcoming and joyful to me! As lovers of good books, Allison and her groom planned their day with a literature theme. The theme was lovingly tied in with little details, like the handmade boutonnieres and the paper flowers crafted from book pages. Little stacks of favorite titles were on every table, and it was just darling. Can we take a moment and also talk about that dress? The retro-inspired style was so flattering and elegant, and her lipstick and shoes were perfect for their little brunch in the gardens. Their lucky guests dined on fried chicken and waffles, biscuits and gravy, and creative mimosas. I loved that the formalities of a sit-down affair were stripped down, and the guests were laid-back and cheery as they enjoyed community together.
