When you live in a beautiful region rich with perfect views, delicious gourmet delicacies, lush vineyards, and stunning mountains, it only makes sense that it is also a region filled with talented artists. That sums up our little corner of Oregon, where I count so many talented people among my colleagues and my friends.
I’ve been challenging myself recently to collaborate more with other artists. There is such value in adding artistry to my portraits by bringing in makeup artists, stylists, florists, and more. I believe there is true community to be found when we stop competing and begin working together, instead. It can be really tempting to imagine that a booking for someone else somehow means one less for me. It is tempting to believe that there is simply not enough to go around, but that is never true. When we work together, I believe this is where we will find truly life-giving inspiration. I believe we all have something to offer one another, and that great art only produces more great art.
This was the idea behind this shoot, which features some incredible talents, and really shows off the beauty of Southern Oregon.
